Slice: A Juried Exhibit of Regional Art
July 11 – August 17, 2025
Reception: July 11, 6-9 PM
Slice celebrates the diversity of expression in our region with an array of sculpture, prints, paintings, and photography created by 36 visual artists. This year marks the 13th anniversary of our regional call to artists, affectionately called Slice. Representing a ‘slice’ of work fresh from the studio produced by new and established artists working in the state, this annual juried exhibit has quickly gained a reputation for displaying innovative and thought-provoking work.
This year’s juror is Susie Kantor, the Associate Curator & Exhibition Department Head at the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at UC Davis.
Rochelle Mason
Focus on Nature: Beyond Eden & Wildcats of the World
July 11 – August 17, 2025
Reception: July 11, 6-9 PM
Rochelle Mason uses her imagination in painting bold, colorful abstracts of beautifully-designed animals by applying swirling, flowing brushstrokes and defining intriguing shapes. Mason loosely bases her Focus on Nature: Beyond Eden series on animals considered unpopular and unappreciated with the purpose of helping people transcend “speciesism.” Mason’s long artistic career has been all about animals: those that are loved, those that are little-known, and those that are overlooked. Some of Rochelle’s Focus on Nature:
Wildcats of the World paintings will also be featured.
This exhibit is sponsored by Wil & Karen Uecker.

The public is also invited to vote for their favorite artwork for the Public Choice Award, which will be awarded at the end of the exhibit.
Please be aware that this exhibit is located in our upstairs gallery. Access may be slightly limited due to occasional events and classes that occur in this space. To ensure that your visit and enjoyment of this exhibit is not interrupted, please refer to our Programs page.
Emma Ware:
Berryessa Summer

Reception: July 11, 6-9 PM
Emma Ware is an artist and atmospheric science PhD student based in Davis, California. Much of her work focuses on scenes from in and around Davis—quiet, familiar places that reflect a slower pace of life and a deep connection to place.
