The Pence Gallery Emerging Artist Award supports the creation of new work by emerging artists in California, and the opportunity to share that work through an exhibit and an artist talk at the Pence. Artists must use the award of $4,000 to further their work in a significant direction, and may work in any medium, except for video or sound. ‘Emerging’ is defined as an artist who is early in their art career, who has limited experience exhibiting, but not an extensive solo exhibit history. The artist’s submitted work must be of high caliber, original, and completed within the past five years.
Deadline extended! Applications must include a resume, artist statement, and 10-15 digital images of current work, through www.callforentry.org by 9 PM PST on April 12, 2026. The application fee is $40 ($35 for Pence members).
This award is sponsored by Rosa Marquez & Yatish Mishra.

This is our major fundraiser for the year, providing support for our education and exhibit programs. This exhibit represents the work of over 100 outstanding local & regional artists, who contribute paintings, photography, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, mixed media work, and more, for silent auction bidding online on our Art Auction website. The Art Auction exhibit will be on display at the Pence from September 6-27, culminating in our Auction Party event on September 27, where bidding ends at 8 PM.
