Assorted Flavors is our annual exhibit dedicated to artwork created by Pence Members! This second annual Member exhibit is open from March 13 – April 16, 2026, in the Dowling Community Gallery.

This is a non-juried, open theme display of 2D & 3D work. Each Pence Member may bring in one piece of their choosing in any medium, and we will install it for you! Maximum dimensions are 30” in any direction (including frame), no heavier than 30 lbs., and all work should be ready to install. Space is limited to the first 40 entrants with a fee of $35.

Drop-off is March 6, 2026, from 11:30 AM – 5 PM.

We are looking for artists who would like to sell their work in our Garden Art Sale from April 24 – May 3, 2026! This year, the Garden Art Sale will take place inside the Pence Gallery during the CCACA ceramics conference. It’s free to apply, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis through April 1st.

We bring together a variety of wonderful artists and makers, whose works include outdoor sculptures, fountains, mosaic stepping stones, decorative plant hangers, plant wands, wind chimes, and more. Each year, hundreds of visitors come to our gallery in search of one-of-a-kind works of art from our Garden Art Sale.

The Pence’s Slice exhibit, now in its 14th year, is open for submission by California artists working in any medium (except video or sound). This is an ‘open theme’ exhibit, which showcases art that is conceptually thoughtful, technically skilled, and representative of contemporary trends in art. Applications are due online by 9 PM PST of May 12 at www.callforentry.org. The fee is $40 ($35 for Pence members).

This year’s juror is Gioia Fonda, an interdisciplinary artist working primarily in two-dimensional media (painting, drawing, sewing, and photography) with occasional forays in sculpture, social practice and public art. Gioia is a dedicated member of the Sacramento art community contributing as an artist, curator, jurist, and collaborator. She is also a tenured professor of art at Sacramento City College where she teaches painting, drawing, and design.
