Ceramic people are not afraid of getting their hands dirty! It has been my impression that as a ceramic artist who has surrounded herself with ceramic friends-- this holds true. Several years ago (before some of you were even born yet) I had a piece of clay placed in my hand, and I have been hooked ever since. While painters are defined by their 2D interpretations, ceramic artists have the luxury of working 3D. The viewer has the ability to see what is behind, underneath, on the top and on the sides of each piece created. There is also an increased responsibility to make a congruent work that is equal parts skill, creativity and style.
It was a difficult task to reduce the pool of ceramic artists for this show, but each of them has one thing in common: they continue to produce fantastic work. Included in the exhibit are pieces created by artists Bonnie Belt, Wesley Wright, Tony Natsoulas, Nancy Selvin, Kathy Kearns, Janet Crittenden, Jennifer Hennig, Kimberly Cook, Crista Ames, Paula Bellacera, Sandy Fong Whetstone, Francois LeClerc, Liz Webb, Shenny Cruces, Rene Martucci, Ian Bassett, Jason Miller, Frankie Hansbearry, Michele Fisher, Bret Ward, Julie Clements, Bob Schumacher, Julie Clements, and Sonya Schumacher for your viewing pleasure.
